What The Creek Hears

This Interactive Map allows any user to engage with the sounds of Red Butte Creek by simply clicking each .5 marker on the map. The live recording from that exact location is played.

This question struck me almost instantly upon my first visit to the Three Creeks Confluence. The Red Butte, Parleys, and Emigration Creeks all start out roaming freely, immersed in greenery, and surrounded by wildlife. All too soon, they are buried alive, swallowed by concrete, and inundated with the sounds of a city. Through audio recordings following Red Butte Creek from top to bottom; taken every .5 miles allows humans to hear and understand the strain we have put this creek through. By the end of the roughly 13 mile journey, I am able to somewhat answer: What does the Creek hear?
